Watch Episode 3 Of The ‘Obey Your Thirst’ Documentary Made By TheFader & Sprite: Vince Staples
Episode 3 features the California rapper, Vince Staples who’s set on doing what he does to encourage the people who helped him to notice his talent and walk down the music path. His belief is that without the struggle he came out of and the need to have his voice heard, Vince wouldn’t be at this stage in music. Making music that tells people in his community that they can have their own voice & actually do what they want to do is important because he didn’t feel like that in the first place. Being in an environment where people really supported him must have caused the mental talk to quiet down & his purpose to show itself.
“I want to be the example to my homies, and say you can do whatever you want to do. It’s up to me to push them and push this community.”
Watching this episode, you can see how Vince is coming from a place of service with his music, to give back and empower others knowing that there are a lot of leaders in the world who don’t know where they’re heading but people follow anyway. You don’t have to be one of those people. Vince also talks about staying true to yourself & allowing your intuition to lead you instead of wasting time following the same person everybody else is…just because. Enjoy the episode above, Isaiah Rashad is up next.
