Elite Daily recently sat down with the entrepreneur and TV personality Daymond John. The Queens, New York, native and founder and CEO of the iconic clothing brand FUBU, spoke on his definition of being an entrepreneur, and what success means to him.
According to John,
“Success is waking up every single day and doing what you want to do until you go to sleep.”
John speaks about many entrepreneurs’ failures being from over-funding, explaining that if you don’t have experience and don’t understand the operation of a business, over-funding can push you to move too fast too soon.
He also talks about his success coming from his ability to know everything about his customer. From what clothes they wear, to what they drive, to what they drink, John makes sure he is always up to date and prepared with his customer base.
As he talks about his passion with such understanding of the system of business, it’s hard not to be inspired. Listen close to his interview above.
Elite Daily also sat down with the Editor-in-Chief and Founder of the Huffington Post, Arianna Huffington.
Huffington’s 14th book, ‘Thrive: The Third Metric to Redefining Success and Creating a Life of Well-Being, Wisdom, and Wonder,’ was inspired by her collapse nearly seven years ago from exhaustion and sleep-deprivation.
The fall gave her a big wake up call, pushing her to change her ways from barely getting rest (4-5 hours) to now sleeping from 7 to 8 hours a night.
While she talks about the importance of technology, Arianna feels that most people take better care of our smartphones than we do of ourselves.
She speaks on how important it is to unplug and recharge the body during off hours and weekends. Huffington has even put in sleep pods at the Huffington Post Office where employees can rest for a period during the work day.
