The Mercedes SLS AMG GT Final Edition Roadster
The Mercedes SLS AMG GT Final Edition Roadster, built in a limited run of just 350 units, represents the last opportunity for customers to order an SLS AMG – while at the same time reflecting the unrivalled success story and unique scope offered by the first vehicle to be completely built by Mercedes-AMG. The super sports car offers a fascinating combination of truly exceptional design and equipment features.
Opening the carbon-fibre bonnet reveals the front mid-mounted AMG 6.3-litre V8 power unit. With an output of 591 horsepower at 6800 revolutions per minute and maximum torque of 650 newton metres at 4750 rpm, the high-revving eight-cylinder engine guarantees dynamic driving at its finest. The Mercedes SLS AMG GT Final Edition Roadster accelerates from 0-62 mph in 3.7 seconds, and can reach 125 mph in 11.2 seconds. The top speed is 198 mph (electronically limited).
The suspension changes haven’t completely transformed the SLS but it has brought about a few important improvements. While it’s a fraction sharper on turns, the suspension is a bit better suited to the quick steering. The long nose of the car seems to dart in to bends with a new found eagerness, while the tail stays compact under acceleration.
Tobias Moers, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG stated : “As the first car to be completely developed by AMG, the SLS AMG marked the beginning of a new era for our company. And now, in the form of the Mercedes SLS AMG GT Final Edition Roadster, we are offering our customers one final and extremely attractive variant of our super sports car. With its numerous carbon fibre-look body components, a further optimised aerodynamic balance and optional Cup tyres, the Mercedes SLS AMG GT Final Edition Roadster has the absolute potential to fascinate.”

As if the design of the car and the unique gullwing doors weren’t enough to make people stop and stare, the Mercedes SLS AMG GT Roadster has one of the best exhaust notes on the road. It pulses and rumbles at idle, growls on a light throttle and fills the air with the bassy rumble of a V8 racing car at full tilt.
When paired with the graphite matt paintwork that has been adopted from the collector’s model, the carbon fibre components and the AMG forged wheels have a sporty flair. To add to the distinctive visual impression when seen from behind, the struts of the rear apron are finished in high-gloss black.
Mercedes has reworked the software that controls the seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox to help make shifts faster. The gap in power between gears is now no longer a noticeable bugbear. The SLS does feel more at home, taking off a lot more smoothly and accelerating seamlessly through the gears. But unlike the standard car you can’t select a Comfort mode for them, with the choices now limited to Sport and Sport+.
It is not only the exterior design and the engineering of the Mercedes SLS AMG GT Final Edition that will suit the best of tastes, but also the interior.
